Abstract
This study deals with the catalogue of Cetacean specimens kept at seven museums and other scientific collections of the Campania Region. A thorough bibliographic and archivistic research was performed to reconstruct the history of the Cetacean samples in each collection. The specimens kept were subjected to a revision of the species determination. On the whole, 13 specimens and two models were registered belonging to five species of the Mediterranean fauna. Particular interesting is the upper maxillary of a Physeter macrocephalus stranded along the coasts of the Island of Ischia (Naples) in 1770, and an half jawbone of a Balaenoptera cfr. physalus dating back to the XVII century.
