Riassunto

L’esposizione temporanea “Veleni, istruzioni per l’uso” è stata proposta al pubblico dal 25 ottobre 2013 al 17 agosto 2014 presso il Museo delle Scienze, Sala Crivelli, Polo Museale dell’Università di Camerino. La mostra ha presentato un percorso sensoriale e scientifico non solo attraverso i veleni prodotti da piante ed animali: sono stati proposti anche i rimedi naturali che hanno attraversato la nostra storia, cultura, scienza e tradizione. Pannelli esplicativi, animali vivi, campioni d’erbario, libri antichi e multimedia hanno guidato il pubblico attraverso il percorso espositivo. Un’attività educativa basata sul metodo IBSE è stata proposta alle scuole. Conferenze, workshop, spettacoli teatrali ed eventi educativi per bambini sono stati organizzati per coinvolgere il pubblico nei fine settimana durante tutto il periodo di apertura.

Abstract

The temporary exhibition “Poisons, instructions for use” was on display from October 25th 2013 to August 17th 2014 at the Science Museum, Crivelli Hall, Polo Museale of Camerino University. The exhibition presented a sensorial and scientific journey not only through poisons and venoms from plants and animals: were also proposed natural drugs which crossed our history, culture, science and tradition. Display panels, living animals, herbarium specimens, antique books and multimedia guided public through the exhibition. An IBSE based educational activity was proposed to schools. Lectures, workshops, theatre performances and educational events for children were organized to involve public on weekends during the whole period.

In molte città di mare di tutto il mondo esistono musei dedicati alla marineria: si tratta di musei dai limiti indistinti che si pongono fra etnografia, storia, tecnologia e arte, realizzati spesso per conservare le tradizioni e l’identità di comunità per le quali il mare è stata la principale fonte di sostentamento o di ricchezza economica, a volte per illustrare la potenza navale di una nazione, più raramente per narrare storie di avventure, di esplorazioni e di scoperte di nuovi mondi. Musei marinari esistono tuttavia anche in città che a prima vista sembrano non avere un particolare legame con il mare.

Conserving memories: the Museu Marítimo de Ílhavo (Portugal)

Abstract

Many coastal cities around the world have museums dedicated to seafaring. These are museums with indistinct boundaries combining ethnography, history, technology and art. They were often created to preserve the traditions and identity of communities for which the sea was the main source of livelihood or economic wealth, sometimes to illustrate the naval power of a nation, and more rarely to recount stories of adventures, explorations and discoveries of new worlds. However there are also maritime museums in cities that at first glance seem to lack a special bond with the sea.
